Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos has provided a concerning update on his future at Stamford Bridge that will no doubt worry fans.
The 20-year-old midfielder is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, where he has been enjoying a standout season.
He has scored nine goals and registered three assists in 26 appearances, earning high praise from coach Liam Rosenior, who recently described him as "exceptional."
With Chelsea enduring a difficult campaign, many supporters had hoped to see Santos return in the summer and play a key role next season.
However, in a recent interview with ESPN Brasil, the former Vasco da Gama starlet admitted that his future remains uncertain.
"Of course, you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea,” said Santos, who is under contract at Chelsea until 2030. "You dream of that moment, but I think, at this moment, you have to have a clear head, finish the season here, and make the best choice when the season is over."
He added: “I don’t think that a specific decision has been made. No one has come to talk to me directly. Everything is in the hands of the club and my agents.”
Santos eyeing Estevao link-up
Since moving to Chelsea in 2023, Santos has been part of the club's growing contingent of Brazilian talents, which includes Kendry Paez, Deivid Washington, and Angelo Gabriel.
Another highly rated prospect, Estevao Willian, is set to join the Blues this summer after sealing a £28 million move from Palmeiras in January 2023.

The record-breaking 17-year-old winger, who has scored five goals for Palmeiras this season, is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football, and Santos expressed his excitement about potentially teaming up with him at Chelsea.
"Estevao is a top-quality player, world-class," he said. "God willing, he'll go far, and we can create a great duo at Chelsea—a duo of Brazilians.”
Let's hope Santos' wish comes true.
