Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola shared a sweet message with Cole Palmer after practicing free-kicks with him at the Blues' training ground.
Zola and Palmer met at Cobham for a "Masterclass" video on the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, taking turns trying to score from dead balls and exchanging passes while discussing Palmer's upbringing and their respective Chelsea careers.
The pair also watched videos of and discussed their best goals for the Blues, including Palmer's superb strike against Everton last season, which Zola described as his "favourite" from the England international.
At the end of the video, Zola thanked Palmer for his time, as well his exploits for Chelsea.
The 22-year-old has scored 32 goals and provided 20 assists in 59 games for Chelsea since completing a £42.5 million switch from Manchester City last summer, helping the Blues reassert themselves as one of the best teams in the Premier League.
"Thank you for everything you're doing for my club," Zola, who made 312 appearances for Chelsea between 1996 and 2003, said to Palmer.
"I'm looking forward to seeing more," he added.
Palmer was visibly touched by the sentiment, as were those Chelsea fans who had watched the video.
"That got me in the heart," one supporter wrote about the moment in the comments section. "What a legend." Another wrote: "Oh Zola!"
Palmer: Maresca stops me training
Elsewhere in the video, Palmer revealed that Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca sometimes has to stop him from training otherwise he would never go home.
When asked by Zola if he stays out to practice after every training session, Palmer replied: "Yeah, if Maresca lets me."
"Why? He doesn't want [you] to?" replied Zola.
"It's too much sometimes," Palmer explained. When asked by Zola if he would stay out and practice "all day" if he were allowed, Palmer then said: "If I could."
