Chelsea already have a plethora of midfield talent at their disposal, including Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Romeo Lavia.

That isn't stopping the Blues from looking for more options in the middle of the park, however.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Chelsea are keeping tabs on Hellas Verona midfielder Reda Belahyane, having sent scouts to the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium to watch him in action against Venezia on Friday night.

Ligue 1 side Marseille also appear to be interested in the young midfielder, having also sent scouts to the game.

Verona ran out as 2-1 winners on the night, with Belahyane making both the second-most passes and tackles for his side.

According to Transfermarkt, the youngster is valued at just £500,000, making him a potential snip for any interested parties.

Who is Reda Belahyane?

Belahyane, 20, was born in France and came through the academy at OGC Nice, making his first-team debut as a teenager in March 2023.

He completed a move to Verona in January of this year, and has since become an integral part of Paolo Zanetti's side, starting all seven of the club's seven Serie A matches this term.

He also represents Morocco internationally.

Described by his former club OGC Nice as "a technical and creative player with the ball, aggressive and willing to win the ball back," Belahyane models his game on countryman and Chelsea legend N'Golo Kante.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Belahyane once said of Kante, who now plays in Saudi Arabia for Al Ittihad: "My role model, who sets an example both on and off the pitch, is N'Golo Kanté."

"I really like his team spirit," he explained. "Even off the pitch he is always calm. But when he goes on the pitch he is aggressive. He has been my example since I was a child."
