Chelsea are now frontrunners in the race to sign Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen and are ready to table a mammoth seven-year contract to see off competition, according to The Independent.
Huijsen has been a breakout star in the Premier League this season, playing a key role in Bournemouth’s surprise push for European qualification and earning his first senior call-up to the Spanish national team.
His standout performances have not gone unnoticed, with heavyweights such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Arsenal all monitoring his situation.
However, it’s Chelsea who appear to be in pole position.
The West London club are reportedly prepared to activate the 22-year-old’s £50 million release clause and offer a long-term deal in line with their strategy of locking down young talent – similar to what they’ve done with Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, and others.

Speaking recently to Sky Sports, Huijsen remained tight-lipped about his future but made it clear his focus remains on the present.
"I'm very calm. I don't really focus on it. Now is not the time. I’m just focused on finishing the season well," he said.
He added that his father, who also acts as his agent, is handling any transfer discussions: "My dad is my agent, he fixes everything. I don't read anything, I don't think about it too much. I'm just focusing on my football and working hard."
When asked directly about his reported release clause, Huijsen simply stated: "I'm just focused on making history at this club."
While the defender is keeping his cards close to his chest, a move to Stamford Bridge is increasingly looking like a strong possibility.
For Huijsen, it would mark the next chapter in a rapidly ascending career. For Chelsea, it would be another key addition to a squad seeking defensive reinforcements and long-term stability at the back.
