Crystal Palace want Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
That's according to Football Transfers, who on Thursday reported that the Eagles have approached Chelsea about a potential loan move for the player in January.
The publication claims that Palace owner Steve Parish sees Mudryk as a game-changer like former club legend Wilfried Zaha, and is keen to offer him a route out of Stamford Bridge.
Mudryk, 23, joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for an initial fee of £62 million.
He has since failed to justify that price tag, however, managing just nine goals and nine assists in 72 games for the Blues.
This season, he has often been overlooked by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca in favour of other attacking stars like Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, and Jadon Sancho, starting just one of the club's 11 Premier League games.
Palace, meanwhile, have struggled for goals from out wide following the departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich in the summer.
Should the Eagles want to bring in Mudryk to help fix that problem, however, a significant roadblock would be the Ukraine international's wages. He currently earns a cool £100,000 per week in West London, which is just £5,000 less than Palace's top earner Daichi Kamada takes home each week.
Football Transfers claim that should the move materialise, both Chelsea and Palace would likely agree to share the cost of Mudryk's wages.
Liverpool reportedly want Mudryk, too
Palace aren't the only club who are reportedly interested in Mudryk.
According to a report from Spanish football website Fichajes back in late-September, Liverpool are also keen on the former Shakhtar star.
The publication claimed that the Reds see Mudryk as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is in the final year of his contract at Anfield.
Fichajes reported that Liverpool would be willing to pay an initial fee of around £29 million for the 23-year-old, though that could rise to £41.8 million in performance-related add-ons.
Speaking about Mudryk after Chelsea's win over Panathinaikos in the Europa Conference League last month, Blues boss Maresca said that he believes the young winger will eventually come good.
"We want the best for Misha. Since day one we've tried to help him," said the Italian coach. "Probably he's one of the guys that the learning process is more slow compared to the rest, but he's improving."
He added: "I'm sure that slowly, slowly we're going to arrive where he will score more goals and to be more important for us."
