Jadon Sancho has delivered a blunt but honest assessment of Chelsea’s Premier League run-in after the Blues were held to a 2-2 draw by relegation-threatened Ipswich Town at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Enzo Maresca’s side were stunned in the first half, falling 2-0 behind thanks to goals from Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson—each assisting the other in a quick-fire double blow.
Chelsea responded just a minute after the restart, pulling one back through an own goal from Axel Tuanzebe.
Sancho then salvaged a point with a moment of brilliance, collecting the ball directly from a corner, turning sharply, and curling it into the top corner with 11 minutes remaining.
The result leaves Chelsea in sixth place following weekend wins for both Manchester City and Newcastle United. With just six games left to play, Champions League qualification is no longer in their control.
After the match, Sancho took to Instagram to share some photos of his goal, captioning it with a message that reflected the squad’s mindset heading into the final stretch.
"6 finals to go, together as one!" he wrote.
Chelsea’s remaining fixtures include a tough run of games. They face Fulham next at Craven Cottage—having lost the reverse fixture back in December—before hosting Everton and league leaders Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
A trip to face Newcastle at St. James’ Park follows, ahead of a crucial home clash with Manchester United and a final-day visit to Nottingham Forest.

Speaking to the media post-match, Maresca was asked whether the draw against Ipswich could prove decisive in the club’s pursuit of a top-four finish.
"At the end of the season, we’ll see. Hopefully not," he replied, according to Football London. "I think we are going from now on, win games and drop points. It’s normal. For sure, today, we didn’t expect to drop points."
Maresca was also quizzed on Jadon Sancho’s future in West London. The English winger, currently on loan from Manchester United, had been expected to complete a permanent move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, that move is now uncertain. Reports suggest Chelsea have inserted a clause allowing them to pay a £5 million fee to withdraw from the deal.
"Today we started with Noni and Pedro," Maresca explained. "Jadon is playing almost every game and the idea is to refresh. With one month to go, the focus is on how to finish."
