Joao Felix has celebrated his loan move to AC Milan by becoming Mizuno's latest brand ambassador, following in the footsteps of Real Madrid and Spain legend Sergio Ramos.

The Portuguese forward, who rejoined Chelsea permanently from Atletico Madrid in the summer, completed a loan move to Milan on Tuesday.

Felix will spend the rest of the season at the San Siro, with Milan covering the 25-year-old's wages and paying Chelsea a £5 million loan fee.

No option to buy has been included in the deal.

Just two days after sealing his move to Italy, Japanese sports brand Mizuno announced that Felix had signed as a brand ambassador, just as Ramos did two years ago.

“I am delighted to become the global brand ambassador for Mizuno, a Japanese sports brand with a long and rich history," said Felix, who was previously sponsored by Adidas.

"Mizuno’s football boots are very light and comfortable," he added." My first impression after wearing them were really fantastic and I am excited to play with these boots. Furthermore, I am looking forward to work closely with Mizuno to expand the brand globally.”

As part of his new deal with Mizuno, Félix will wear Mizuno’s football boots – specifically the MIZUNO α Ⅱ – while also representing the brand by wearing its lifestyle footwear and other apparel.

"We are very pleased to welcome Joao Felix as a Mizuno brand ambassador," Akito Mizuno, President of Mizuno Corporation, said.

He added: "Alongside Félix, who has continued to shine on the world’s greatest stages since his teenage years, we will further grow and evolve Mizuno's football business globally."

A move to Milan and a new brand deal aren’t the only changes for Felix, who was handed just three Premier League starts this season by Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

The Portugal international also has a new shirt number.

At Chelsea, Felix wore the number 14 shirt, but at Milan, he has opted for number 79 – the same number he wore during his breakthrough season at boyhood club Benfica in 2018/19.
