Nicolas Jackson has named the former Chelsea striker he thinks he would have had an "amazing" partnership with at Stamford Bridge.
During a recent interview with Sky Sports Premier League, the Senegalese striker was asked to rank which three of Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o, and Demba Ba he would have most liked to have played with.
He ranked Hazard first, Eto'o second, and, Ba in third.
However, despite putting Ba in last place, Jackson said of his compatriot: "In a 4-4-2 we would have been tough."
"I think we would have been amazing together," he added.
Ba spent one-and-a-half seasons at Chelsea after completing a £7.5 million transfer from Newcastle United in 2013, scoring 14 goals in 51 games. Despite his spell at the Bridge being short-lived, however, he is held in high regard by the club's fanbase, particularly because of the famous goal he scored against Liverpool in April 2014 which, with the help of a slip from Steven Gerrard, all but ended the Reds' title hopes that season.
Jackson, meanwhile, has now been at Stamford Bridge for almost the same amount of time as Ba was, but has been much more potent in front of goal.
Since joining the Blues from Villarreal last summer, the 23-year-old has scored 25 goals in 58 games, including eight in just 13 Premier League games this term.
Ba full of praise for Jackson
Upon joining Chelsea last year, Jackson cited Ba as one of the reasons he wanted to move to Stamford Bridge.
"I wanted to join a big team and Chelsea is one of the best teams in the world, plus I’ve watched them since I was young. I watched Demba Ba, Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka was good too, big players," he said. "So I always dreamed of playing for a team like this."
In an interview with London World the following month, Ba was then asked if he had any advice for Jackson that would help him succeed in West London.
The former Blues striker, who retired in 2021, said: "I'll tell you that he needs balls."
"You're the striker. You know, you have the capability. You have to be courageous, you have to come in and say I am here. I am the one who's leading that attack, I'll be the one who's going to be leading the club to victory. Because I'm a striker – I score goals," Ba explained.
Lead and the line and score goals is exactly what Jackson has done for Chelsea, and after he netted a brace against West Ham United back in September, Ba heaped praise on the young forward.
"Nicolas Jackson second goal is a masterclass on creating space," Ba wrote on X.
"How he gets the defender out of position and gets in there is top level. Even better than the finishing itself," he added.
