Noni Madueke has outlined how he thinks Chelsea can improve after the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Forest's Chris Wood opened the scoring on the day, prodding home from close range just shortly after the break.

Madueke himself then equalized in the 57th minute, taking his Premier League tally for the season to four, before both sides missed a number of great chances to win the match late on.

Speaking after the match, Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, said he was pleased to get on the scoresheet, but frustrated that his team were unable score a winner.

"Forest were defending for most of the game and they were hard to break down," he said. "It’s annoying we couldn’t get another goal but that’s football."

He added: "We still had chances to score another goal though and in the end it’s one of those games that just leaves you frustrated."

As well as being frustrated at Chelsea's lack of clinical finishing, Madueke also expressed his annoyance at the Blues once again conceding.

Including the match against Forest, Chelsea have now conceded five in their last three matches, having shipped two apiece in the recent 4-2 wins over both Brighton and Gent.

"We’ve made a good start to the season but we are still conceding a few goals, which we know we need to tighten up on as a team," Madueke said.

"It’s only a couple of months under the new manager and things are going well, we’ve put in some really good performances and we need to build on them going forward," he explained.

Chelsea next take on Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on October 20, after the international break.

Madueke has once again been called up for England, who take on Greece and Finland on October 10 and 13 respectively.
