Reece James is certain that Chelsea will be playing Champions League football next season.

The Blues are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 11 games to play, however are in the midst of a poor run of form.

Enzo Maresca's side have won just three of their last 11 games in the top flight while suffering defeats at the hands of Fulham, Ipswich Town, Manchester City, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Aston Villa.

Despite their recent results, however, James, who played in midfield during Chelsea's midweek win over FC Copenhagen in the Europa Conference League, is confident the Blues will be in the top four come the end of the campaign.

"Now it’s the business end of the season. It’s time to kick on and keep the wins going," the Chelsea captain said in an interview with the club's official website.

"Building momentum is key," he added. "We have our goals of winning the Conference League and qualifying for the Champions League. I have zero doubts in achieving that."

A win over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday would see Chelsea overtake Manchester City, who were beaten by Nottingham Forest on Saturday, and move back into the Premier League's top four.

The Blues will be without a number of key players for the game, however, with all of Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Marc Guiu all sidelined with injury.

Romeo Lavia, while having recently stepped up his recovery from injury and is back in training, will also miss out.

Previewing the game, Maresca said he expects to face a tough challenge in his former side, who he claims will be "desperate" for points.

The Foxes are currently 19th in the table, five points away from safety.

"Leicester will be a very tough opponent," Maresca said. "Every team is playing for something and those that are battling relegation are maybe even more desperate for points, because they need to stay in the Premier League."

"That’s not to say those who are battling for top four or for titles are not desperate for points also. Every team is battling for points and that’s why at this stage of the season, the games are very difficult no matter the opponent," he added.
